A Moment of Magic
Winner of the 2020 UC Student Activity Board Impact Award
Brave. Strong. Fearless.

Who Are We?
A Moment of Magic is a nonprofit run by and completely made up of college volunteers. We bring unique character experiences with famous princesses, superheroes, and other fictional figures to medically vulnerable children. Our mission is to remind them to believe in magic.

A Moment of Magic UC has visited hundreds of kids, both in-person and virtually, across several states. We've partnered with St. Jude's, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House, among others.

We have a 100% approval and recommendation rate from families and organizations we visit, and in 2020 we won the UC Student Activity Board Impact Award for our impact across the community.
Playing My Part
I've been fortunate to work with A Moment of Magic UC in a variety of positions and leadership roles. In my executive board positions, I coordinated enriching and accessible activities for characters and families to collaborate on during visits, and now I coordinate all training for chapter volunteers in order to provide the best possible experience to the communities we work with.

Official positions: Magic maker (non-character volunteer), character volunteer, magic maker coordinator, activity coordinator, training coordinator.

Unofficial positions: snowman maker, evil leopard pirate queen, face painter, wig wrangler, storybook reader, singalong leader, toilet paper mummy, glitter volcano detonator, gold medal distributor, smile bringer, wish maker, career arkoudaphobe.

Impact
I've personally worked over 300 hours with A Moment of Magic. My biggest joy out of all of those hours is that I have been able to make medically vulnerable children's treatment a bit lighter and happier with my presence. Every craft I make, hug I give, and smile I receive makes everything I do for the organization worth it.

The children and families I've met on visits, as well as the lifelong friends I've made within the organization, have all changed my life for the better. I am infinitely grateful for the opportunity to get to work with them. I'm glad that I've been able to make a difference to children in my community and have fun while doing it.
